GALLAGHER TIES FOR 3RD; ROOS FINISH FOUR SHOTS OUT OF THIRD AT PAT LESSER HARBOTTLE INVITATIONAL

The UMKC women’s golf team closed out the Pat Lesser Harbottle Invitational in sixth position, just four shots out of third place in the event at the Tacoma Golf & Country Club.

Chandler Gallagher (Kansas City, Mo.) continued to pace the Roos in the third round as the senior fired her second straight round of 73 to climb into a tie for third, just one shot out of second, at +6.  Gallagher finished the day with three birdies in the final round, tallying them on the par-3 6th, par-4 8th and par-5 18th.

Cynthia Diaz (Bucaramanga, Colombia) held steady in the final round as she remained in 16th spot with a final round 78 that included her lone birdie on the par-3 15th, while Maria Henao(Pereira, Colombia) tied for 34th with a 79 in round three.  On the day, Henao played the par-3’s at -2, notching her two birdies of the round on Nos. 3 and 17.

Celine Lim (Shah Alam, Malaysia) finished one shot back of Henao in a tie for 38th with a 78, highlighted by a birdie on the par-5 18th and Victoria Pavlik (San Antonio, Texas) tied for 66th with a final round 84 for the Roos.

North Dakota State claimed the team title by 12 shots over UC Irvine and 15 shots over Sam Houston State, while the Bison’s Natalie Roth was the individual medalist at -3.

The Blue & Gold will be back in action again on Oct. 22-24 when they close out the fall schedule with the Pat Bradley Invitational at the Lakewood Ranch Golf & Country Club in Lakewood Ranch, Fla.
