Former Central Missouri Mules Golfer Alex Springer is starting to make a name for himself on the professional circuit. Springer played in last week’s Mackenzie Tour Canada Q-School USA West 2 and finished in a tie for 13th place.
Springer shot a -3, 285 over four rounds with scores of 73, 66, 76, 70 on the par-72 course. His final round of -2, 70 moved him up nine places.
The Mackenzie Tour Canada has served as a stepping stone for many on their path to the PGA Tour. Finishing well at the Mackenzie Tour can earn a player a tour card onto the Web.com Tour, a developmental tour for the PGA Tour.
With Springers 13th place finish at the qualifying school, he earns exemption status for the first four Mackenzie Tour events. The first event is the Freedom 55 Financial Open held May 31 – June 3 in Vancouver, British Columbia, Can. at the Point Grey Golf and Country Club.
