
Cougar Women’s Golf Places Third in Cougar Classic
Columbia, Mo. – The Cougar women’s golf team completed day two of the Columbia College Cougar Classic today, hosted by Columbia Country Club. The squad finished third overall with a cumulative score of 696 (349-347, +120).
William Penn University finished in first place with a score of 647 (323-324, +36) while Baker University’s placed second with a two day score of 676 (336-340, +100).
Senior Laken Frese placed 5th out of 31 golfers to lead the Cougars with a two day score of 165 (79-86, +21). Claire McDonald tied for 13th place after shooting a 174 (87-87, +30) while Kasey Nichols finished in 15th with a 177 (88-89, +17). Michelle Clark 180 (95-85, +136) and Mikayla Knaebel 190 (95-95, +23) rounded out the scoring for the Cougars placing 19th and 21st, respectively. Elizabeth Friedman 199 (100-99, +27) also competed for Columbia and finished 25th.
The Cougars return to action on October 12th and 13th as they take part in the Unilever Freed-Hardeman Fall Invitational. The tournament will be held Covington Country Club in Covington, Tenn.
