
Cougar Golf Wraps up Fall Season with a Win
Covington, Tenn. – The Cougar men’s and women’s golf teams wrapped up their fall season today at the Unilever Freed-Hardeman University Fall Invitational, hosted by Covington Country Club.
The Columbia men won the event by one stroke with a score of 607 (307-300, +31). American Midwest Conference (AMC) foe Lindenwood-Belleville took second place with a two-day score of 608 (313-295, +32).
Daymond Dollens finished sixth overall after carding a 151 (76-75, +7) and was named to the All-Tournament Team on the men’s side. Hunter Parrish 152 (78-74, +8) and Trevor Cronin 152 (77-75, +8) finished in a tie for seventh place while Erik Peyton 155 (79-76, +11) tied for 13th. Cole Perkins rounded out the scoring for the Cougars and shot a 163 (76-87, +19).
The Cougar women’s squad finished fourth overall with a cumulative score of 721 (354-367, +145).
Loyola University won the event with a score of 673 (338-335, +97) while Fellow AMC member and host school Freed-Hardeman University placed second after shooting a 682 (343-339, +106).
Senior Laken Frese finished fourth overall and was named to the All-Tournament Team after firing a two-day score of 166 (80-86, +22) to lead the Cougar women followed by Claire McDonald who ended in a tie for 21st place with a score of 182 (90-92, +38). Michelle Clark 185 (92-93, +41), Kasey Nichols 188 (92-96, +44), and Mikayla Knaebel 198 (100-98, +54) rounded out the scoring for the Cougars.
