The UMKC women’s golf team closed out the Johnie Imes Invitational with the final two rounds of the event on Tuesday, carding rounds of 308 and 307 after a 307 on Monday at the Old Hawthorne Club.
Chandler Gallagher (Kansas City, Mo.) finished as the highest placing Roo in the event, tying for 11th after carding a -2, 70 in the second round, followed by a 74 in round three. In round two, Gallagher registered a trio of birdies on both the front and the back nines, including three on par-4’s, two on par-3’s and one on a par-5. In round three, meanwhile, the hometown senior added four more birdies for a 10 birdie day.
Maria Henao (Pereira, Colombia) ended the event as the Roos next lowest finisher in a tie for 32nd. Henao fared well in the second round as well, as the Colombian notched four birdies, including back-to-back on Nos. 12 and 13, while adding two more in round three.
Making her season debut, Celine Lim (Shah Alam, Malaysia) registered four birdies on the final day of play, including three in round three to tie for 64th overall, while Victoria Pavlik (San Antonio, Texas) tallied back-to-back birdies in round two on Nos. 3 and 4 and added one more in round three to finish in 72nd.
Cyrielle Kern (Curvy, France), meanwhile, finished one spot behind in 73rd after closing out the event with a three birdie final round.
Missouri claimed the team title in the event by six shots over East Tennessee State, while the Bucs’ Tereza Melecka was the individual medalist at -10.
