Columbia Men’s Golf Finishes Second in Cougar Classic

Columbia, Mo. – The Columbia College men’s golf teams finished up day two of the Columbia College Cougar Classic today, hosted by Columbia Country Club. The Blue team placed second after shooting 35-over par 603 (299-304). Columbia’s Silver team tied for fifth place, hitting a 50-over-par 618 (320-298).
The 2nd-ranked William Woods University A team won the event by 18-strokes, as they shot an 11-over par 579 (293-286).

Freshman Daymond Dollens finished in third place and made the All-Tournament Team with a three-over-par total of 145 (72-73). Trevor Cronin also made the All-Tournament team, shooting a five-over par 147 (73-74), for a fifth place finish.

Erik Peyton from the Silver team tied for sixth place with a two-day score of 149 (77-72, +7) while teammate Colbey Schuster tied for 14th with a score of 153 (78-75, +11). Cole Perkins who also played on the Silver team finished in 18thplace after shooting a 155 (80-75, +13).

Ben Charles finished in 24th place 157 (80-77, +15) while Hunter Parrish 158 (76-82, +16) and Caleb Abalos 158 (78-80, +16) tied for 25th to round out the scoring for the Blue team.

Levi Elder who was on the Silver team ended in a tie for 31st after turning in a 161 (85-76, +19).

The Cougars return to action on October 12th and 13th as they take part in the Unilever Freed-Hardeman Fall Invitational. The tournament will be held Covington Country Club in Covington, Tenn.
