Alex Springer named to GCAA All-America Team
FORMBY, England (June 20, 2016) — Central Missouri junior golfer Alex Springer was named to the Division II PING Honorable Mention All-America Team as announced by the Golf Coaches Association of America (GCAA). This is the second straight Honorable Mention All-America award for Springer.
Springer led the Mules with a 72.8 stroke average over 12 events this past season. He recorded a team-leading 17 rounds at better or better and shot a low round of 67. He had eight top 10 finishes this season, including five top five marks and he captured the individual title at the NSIC Men’s Golf Championship last October with a two round total of two-under par.
The Olathe, Kansas native was a First Team All-MIAA selection after finishing second in the season-long points standings. He also earned Division II PING All-Central Region honors as one of the top 12 players in the region.
