About Gateway PGA REACH Foundation
Since the playing of the 74th Senior PGA Championship at Bellerive Country Club, the Gateway PGA REACH Foundation has expanded the vision of improving lives through the community of golf. Significant time and resources have been directed towards partners, programs, and initiatives that help keep under privileged youth in school while preparing them for brighter futures.
In addition, Gateway PGA REACH Foundation is reinventing how the game of golf can empower a community to go outside of their facility to help improve the lives of others. Over 200 local abled and disabled veterans have experienced the generosity of the golfing community through free golf instruction, leagues, and playing opportunities. St Louis area Boys & Girls Clubs have robust club golf teams that are now competing alongside other local junior golfers. Scholarships have been given to deserving juniors to help defer the cost of a college education through the Clarence Voigt Memorial Scholarship Fund.
The PGA of America has taken what has been accomplished in St Louis and has made PGA REACH a national philanthropic model. They will look to inspire communities all across the country by leveraging major championship golf. The PGA Championship will return to St Louis in 2018 where it will celebrate the 100th playing of the Championship.
